Ilmu tidak dapat didapatkan begitu saja. Seseorang harus berusaha dengan tekun dan sungguh-sungguh untuk mendapatkan ilmu. Semakin banyak ilmu yang kita peroleh semakin luas wawasan berpikir kita dan semakin mudah kita mencari alternatif solusi. Kita dapat belajar secara <em>otodidak<\/em>, berguru pada orang lain maupun membaca buku-buku.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ilmu pun jangan hanya diserap diserap teorinya saja. Tetapi juga dipraktikkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari (<em>kelakone kanthi laku), <\/em>untuk kesejahteraan bersama. Atau ilmu itu dapat terwujud apabila dijalankan dalam kehidupan. Dimulai dari kemauan-kemauan inilah yang membuat sentausa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seseorang yang berilmua sejati memiliki kesadaran budi untuk menaklukkan hawa nafsu. Nafsu angkara murka di dalam diri selalu berkumpul dengan kelompok nafsu, sehingga semakin membesar atau menguasai diri. Bila dibiarkan, berkembang menjadi bahaya. Lain halnya dengan yang sudah gemar kepada hal-hal yang rohaniah, Nampak selalu mengampuni segala kesalahan, bersikap sabar karena berusaha berbaik budi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Disadur dari buku \u201cPitutur Luhur Jawa.
